IAN RUHTER PHOTO PRESENTATION IN LAKE TAHOE
10.28.2008
South Lake Tahoe had the distinct pleasure in showcasing the work of Forum Staff Photographer Ian Ruhter, along with Chris Wellhausen, and Cinematographer Kyle Schwartz at Lake Tahoe Community College. The night began with an Artist reception with Fine Art prints on display, and concluded with a visual presentation by each artist on a 20 x 30 foot screen in the Duke Theater. Ian broke down to the audience his philosophies of Art and how he maintains that integrity principle when managing large advertising campaigns.

ON THE LINE: A PETER LINE TRIBUTE
10.24.2008
Snowboarder Magazine posted an online follow-up to Peter Line’s interview in their November ‘08 issue – where some of snowboarding’s most renowned pros had something to say about him.

Peter Line is arguably one of the most influential riders of our generation. Over the years he has logged serious video parts with Mack Dawg, graced the cover of every major snowboard magazine, and stood atop many contest podiums. Beyond the face of Forum, there is also a multi-talented media man, one who actively designs graphics for his own pro models, contributes a column to this very publication and runs his own website. Someone who has their hands in as many facets of the industry as Peter tends to meet a lot of people along the way, and who better to tell his stories than those he shared the experiences with? …Continue

The night that Forum or Against’em was set to premiere in Sierra Snowboard, the 1000+ venue was, well, it was sold out by noon. That’s because the folks at Forum are such HUGE SELL OUTS!!!
Anyway, with such an anticipated turnout, John Jackson, Travis Kennedy, and Stevie Bell headed to Sacremento for the usual session of shaking hands and kissing babies (along with signing autographs, and throwing high-fives to the fans).

New England is getting a bit colder, and with the anticipation of snow falling in the forecast, the pre-season stoke is at an all time high. Needless to say, a (Massachusetts) massive showing of Forum or Against’em coincided with the Eastern Boarder Video premiere. With Guinness pints flowing and a vast array of North Eastern accents livening the scene, crowds gathered to see the Forum Team, and Foregional Rider, Chris Carr, close out Eastern Boarder’s Project.

FOA EUROPEAN TOUR STOP IN FRANCE
10.15.2008
On the hot drive to France, the Forum Team was fortunate enough to take a break and, well, do a little wake surfing to cool down – as if the hangovers and jet lag of European movie premiere travel doesn’t mess with your head. The team awoke in Munich at Badeanstalt, a huge club that was converted from an in-ground swimming pool. With millions, potentially billions of people in attendance, things heated up quickly. Unfortunately, the old pool didn’t help much in terms of a cool down for the sweaty maniacs in attendance.

With Innsbruck being Forum’s European home front, it was no surprise that The Weekender Club was bound to go off. Forum or Against’em was shown on four separate levels of the party, so the team had a lot of ground to cover in one night. Needless to say, shit was handled. Is this a claim, or what?

Forum’s California Sales Force has added a new addition to it’s promotional crew. Not in terms of “man-power” per say, but have a look at some of the wheelings and dealings and assorted meets / meats and greets that will be hitting the concrete wasteland. So yeah, if you are into snowboard videos (hint: Forum or Against’em), bar-be-que, beer, and full flavored parties, then you’ll undoubtedly have to come see the Amazing Dewey and his mystical meat-wagon. No need to be AGAINST’EM’ cause this is 100% Forum.

IAN RUHTER PHOTO GALLERY ON TWS SNOW
10.06.2008

Forum Staff Photographer, Ian Ruhter, posted a photo gallery on Transworld Snowboarding’s website featuring a plethora of pics (and informative captions) taken during the filming of Forum or Against’em.
“The things that really bother me about my job are also the things I love. I believe that I made the decision to do this with my life subconsciously. The things that I have seen and been a part of have changed my life forever. The snowboard community is the most dysfunctional group of people in the world. We’re anything but normal. That is why we’re all working together. Where else can you be free to express yourself in any way and be accepted? If you don’t fit in to society and you’re not considered a normal person, then come join us. We will welcome anyone who doesn’t want to be put into a cookie-cutter mold. Normal will never measure up to being extraordinary. That is what we are.”
